Beneath the Black Skies II Imperial Coffee Stout

For the second year in a row, we got together with our good homies from Flagstaff, Dark Sky Brewing Co, to brew a big ol' Imperial Stout! We hit up a Spring Training game (as is now tradition), then brewed the next day in Fountain Hills. This year we modified the grain bill a bit to better suit the addition of freshly roasted Nicaraguan coffee beans from Single Speed Coffee up in Flag, then boiled for almost 5 hours! This beer is rich, smooth, and dangerously drinkable.

"It has been said, that in the late 1800s, a raven, dark and menacing, lurked above various hidden mines in the Arizona Territory upon nightfall. A strange aura flickered to life and wrapped its body when it stood guard over a hidden vein of gold yet flared brighter when miners stirred its wrath. The bright halo, shaped like an arrow, rendered their compasses useless. The miners feared this shadowed bird, its cold stare piercing the night, a sign something terrible awaited beneath the black skies. What lay in wait was not riches, but a grim and murderous fate, one that froze their blood and halted their greed."
